Live Oak Elementary and William H. Frazier Elementary concluded 2024 by celebrating their students’ hard work, perseverance, and leadership through vibrant Leadership Assemblies. These events highlighted not only the academic and personal growth of individual students but also the collective spirit of the Fallbrook Union Elementary School District (FUESD), where such celebrations are taking place throughout the district to foster community and inspiration.
At Live Oak Elementary, the focus was on Habit 3: First Things First, a cornerstone of the Leader in Me program. This principle encourages students to prioritize essential responsibilities, a value evident in the personal reflections shared during the assembly. Students discussed balancing academic and extracurricular demands, demonstrating the real-world application of time management and goal-setting. Awards celebrated achievements in academics, perseverance, and character, including Reader and Writer of the Month, Mathematician, and Leader of the Month. These recognitions highlighted the hard work and determination students bring to their school community daily.
William H. Frazier Elementary’s assembly combined festive performances and academic achievements. Kindergarteners delighted the audience with “Jingle Bells,” while second graders presented a Winter Solstice-themed moon dance. The assembly also showcased impressive gains in reading and math proficiency, with reading scores rising from 28% to 39% and math from 30% to 39%. This progress reflects the dedication of both students and staff in advancing foundational skills.
Grade-specific achievements at Frazier included:
- Transitional Kindergarten (TK): 98% STEM project completion.
- Kindergarten: Mastery of using thermometers to measure temperature.
- First Grade: 85% proficiency in Unit 3 ELA tests.
- Second Grade: 77% proficiency in Unit 3 math assessments.

The Habit 4: Think Win-Win Award was given to students exemplifying teamwork and collaboration, further fostering a culture of mutual respect and shared success.
These assemblies, happening district-wide, underscore FUESD’s commitment to celebrating leadership and achievement at every level. They serve as a powerful reminder of the dedication, talent, and potential within the district’s schools, inspiring students to continue striving for excellence in academics, character, and community impact.
